Dining Room before at various stages of remodeling...

This is the dining room right now

And this is the transition of flooring from our kitchen tile to the dining room wood floors.

This weekend Chris and I worked all day long on Saturday and my mom and dad watched the kids for like 10 hours! Thank you so much mom and dad for letting us get so much done. I worked on finishing the backsplash and it took FOR-EV-ER! chris put down the toe-kick to the cabinets, the baseboard and trimmed out some stuff... he also finished the flooring and got the transition strip down to connect the floors. Sunday night we grouted and then monday I cleaned and cleaned and sealed all the tile in the kitchen... floor and walls. I also cleaned the majority of the house and we are getting other areas of the house ready to be demo-ed, or finished... or refinished... we have so much to do!! just getting the kitchen to this point is totally motivating me to keep it clean and organized and try and have the rest of the ghetto house kinda match (at least cleanliness wise...)
Now that I look at the first "before" pictures up there, I can't believe I lived like that and in that condition for two years. I just had to put up blinders and struggle through so I didn't go completely crazy. I did the layout to the kitchen, picked out all the cabinet, paint, countertop, backsplash... everything... and I love it! I feel like its a little representative part of me and I can't wait to get the rest of the house to match! yeah!!! I'm so excited to show off all of our hard work!!! (mostly Chris's hard work, of course.)
