Also... yesterday I was at the Doc for baby tapia which is right next to the pediatrician office for the girls... anyway... I went to check up on labs that we did TWO MONTHS AGO... I had taken Keira in for her scalp, she has these crusts on her head then her hair falls out and then never grows back... I told Doc she needed oral anti-fungals... we are getting recurrent ring worm on our skin in and she has it on her scalp (she randomly got it on her head when she was 4 weeks old... and i don't think it ever went away...) for a long time I thought it was cradle cap, but not now... it was definitely tinea ablicans.. a yeast and anyway... so doc told me (two months ago) try some dandriff shampoo and gave me steroid cream (hydrocortizone cream) which I knew wouldn't work, so I asked him to culture it (which I actually did with the swab on her scalp at the dr office) so two months later i followed up... I worried the new baby will get it and it will be this vicious cycle that won't go away...
So he calls and says its a fungus (yeast) -DUH- and she needs oral anti-fungals - again DUH- and then it will go away and her hair will grow back... seriously... why doesn't a dr with 12 years of school and years of practice listen to me - mom who's taken 10 years to do three years of college and has the world wide web at her fingers??? ha ha! no seriously, I know Doc's can't really always listen to mom's, but i sure appreciate the ones that try. instead of have two more unneeded months of a pretty little girl's hair falling out in clumps!! oh well... its all going to be better now...
thanks to DR. MOM! :)
