Although I don't really like the sarcastic comments, I do think its funny that he has said so many contradictory things in such a short amount of time. If this was merely informative and not so rude, it would be a great video (regarding the video at the bottom) I am deeply concerned about the direction our country is headed in. I've tried to educate myself on politics in the last year. I don't know why, but it has been a constant nag inside me to need to know what is going on. I still am pretty unknowledgeable about most things... but I what I have come to know is who I am. When I was in high school, I thought I was a Democrat. I guess what I really am is a conservative and independent from any party. I believe that we should be free. Free to speak, free to act, free to educate ourselves. Free to own guns and defend ourselves if necessary. I believe this country was founded by men who were inspired by God to balance power to prevent any abuses. I believe this country was built by people who were seeking freedom from governments that held all control, especially over speech and religion. I believe capitalism is a system that works because people are rewarded because of their own hard work and management of risk. I believe a lot of things... and like I said, I really still don't know enough to make a really good thorough argument or stance... but I'm trying.... and i'm still learning. So far the things that scare me about Obama.... just some gut instinct things... His moral stance and voting record on abortion and on partial birth abortion. The stuff I have read just made my stomach turn. He voted against having a Pediatric DR present for an infant who is aborted (up to 28 weeks pregnant), goes through the whole birth process and then is still living after making is through the delivery. There was a lady that worked in a hospital in Illinois who wanted to bring charges against her employer for having a living baby sitting in a supply closet left to die. There was no such law protecting the baby, so they drafted one and Obama voted against it for different reasons... I can get you specifics if you need them.... He is quoted so say regarding abortion, "I've two daughters...I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake I don't want them punished with a baby." oh! there are so many things about this that is upsetting... where is the accountability after certain choices are made? Can't a girl learn more of a lesson if carrying the child, at least dealing with the physical consequences of having sex.... and then such a wonderful thing can happen... she can selflessly give that baby to someone else who cannot have one themselves. How many lives could change from this kind of outcome from a mistake. How many lives could be hurt (terminated) if a girl does not have to be punished with a baby... its more than one... that's for sure. anyway... a little bit of a tangent there... His tax policies kinda bother me... and believe me... I'm not the wealthy... the over $250K earner over here...Chris and I had no tax liability last year.. and then we got a rebate check? how, I don't know... was I happy to get the money... yes... but was it fair..? I don't think so. I would support a flat tax. that seems that fairest of all. I really like poor ole Joe the Plumber...http://youtube.com/watch?v=RZcEHLr4gBg Coverage from Fox news (which is more conservative unlike the more liberal bias mainstream media) I worry about the effects of a lot of policies that he will put in and their effect on the already stifled economy. this scripture comes to mind... and not to say that literally this is what will happen if Obama is the next president... Mosiah 29:25-27"Therefore, choose you by the voice of this people, judges, that you may be judged according to the laws which have been given you by our fathers, which are correct, and which were given them by the hand of the Lord. "Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law--to do your business by the voice of the people. "And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land." There is so so much more about Obama that concerns me, but I just don't know enough to really enough to state it all correctly.... worry about his economic policies.. the fairness doctrine... his moral stance on abortion... his roots in way radical groups that have influenced him for 40+ years... some very disconcerting things he has said about the founding fathers and the constitution of our Country...I worry about the far-left supreme court judges he will appoint and how they might "interpret" the constitution. I don't really like his energy policy where he has said, "They can build a coal plant, but they will go bankrupt..."because of his cap and trade policy. anyway... on and on and on... all of this may be easily refuted. I don't care... its my gut and probably the spirit that i feel... I just felt this great weight on me, and a responsibility to share what I think. I have to vote for the alternative, which isn't my ideal, but hopefully he will stick a little closer to the conservative republican values and near libertarian Sarah Palin will hopefully assert a good influence to get government smaller and let the American people work our way out of the hard economic times. If we all are cutting back to make it, shouldn't the government? anyway... VOTE TOMORROW!!! McCain*Palin and Yes on Prop 102 and in CA Yes on Prop 8 May the Lord be with us to help us be a good righteous, hard working people.
